Hello Everyone, It has been a dream of mine to one day communicate with old friends from those days long gone. For those who might remember me, I used to be called Nilda and I had a sister name Carol Torres and two Brothers, Joes Torres and Henry Torres. I sincerely believe in my hart that my experiences at Agatha’s were life altering. If you remember me or my family please me, I look forward to hearing from you. Would like to know if anyone from the years 1950-1956 are signed in. We are so sad about the loss of our home. We would like to attend the re-union ,but need the date and time please advise thanks Ellie Sheehy-Davanzo & Dorothy Sheehy-Purvis Message Number: 298 - Friday, September 12, 2008 17:23:49 EDT [IP = 66.136.89.119]
I don't know why I waited to read Olga's Story but I just read it today. What a story. Even though it took place in the late 30's early 40's I don't know how I missed it. I recommend anyone to read such a touching, emotional, sad and happy life of a little girl. So much has not changed from the time I was in in the 70's to most extent. I am also writing my experience in St.Agatha. I hope that one day it could all be told. This is history at it's best with the times of how St.Agatha kept up with the world events and America. How outside evetns influenced St.Agatha. Thank you to all the Nuns who shape our lives. Message Number: 297 - Wednesday, September 10, 2008 15:32:32 EDT [IP = 69.203.68.134]

With the 7th annual 9/11 Memorial Recognition once again appropriately in order, I’d like to pay tribute ( Black Snow) in Commemoration of all those dearly lost to us and to the family members, who remain eternally afflicted... “Amid the ill shadows of indifference there burrows a resilient force commonly known as perseverance!” ............ Black Snow Cold are the flakes from which I seethed Oh wretched hollow, burden me despair Shall I wine in your petulance, or recline in self-reproach Till dawn make dew, I do remain unyielding Confronted by the howling winds of snow drift, I beckon your release For not beside you do I wither... rl “Fallen Angel” God hold you near! - Myrna - Message Number: 295 - Tuesday, September 9, 2008 00:22:43 EDT [IP = 205.188.117.204]
Hi Celia....I do remember you..after all these years. We did share an apt. in Spring Valley. I do remember there was one bathroom everyone shared in the building lol..How long did we live there? I remember we had 2 counselors in the house we lived in, Nancy and Cathy. After I left St. Agatha's I lived an aimless life into the abyss. No one prepered us for the outside world. I wonder what became of all the guys and girls. Do you remember Manny Gonzalez and Miriam Ruiz? Can you believe I still remember the number of the payphone that was downstairs in the cottage we lived in..623-3461...lololol Amazing how some things never leave our memory..Maybe I should play those numbers, Hey you never know..Anyway I have 3 kids- twin sons that are 28 and I have a 15 y/o girl. When did you leave the home? Are you married now? Are you in contact with any of the girls that were in our cottage? I am glad to hear from you and I hope life is treating you well. I tried to e-mail you but it was sent back to me returned..possibly a computer glitch. Take care..E-mail me if you wish...God Bless Mary Ann Message Number: 294 - Monday, September 8, 2008 13:54:03 EDT [IP = 69.125.134.212]
Hello Everyone Does anyone from the home remember a staff person by the name of James Tisdale? We were talking yesterday in church about kids who lived at St. Agatha. He was telling me that he was thinking about the home. If any of you remember Mr. Tisdale please e mail me at ruthieandcece@yahoo.com Love Celia Message Number: 293 - Sunday, September 7, 2008 18:34:03 EDT [IP = 72.68.172.204]
I am so glad you took those pictures of the brook, I was wondering what it looked liked today. I remember I use to go to the brook to catch some frogs, and take them back to St. Agatha and keep them as pets. I was planning to making a extra trip there to look at the brook. Thanks for taking the pictures. they look great. Message Number: 292 - Sunday, September 7, 2008 14:38:57 EDT [IP = 67.83.77.91]
Hi everyone, I just want to let you know, lots of people are sending in their dues and notifying us that they are coming to the Alumni fall event at the gymnasium this October 12, 2008. The day falls on a Sunday but Monday is a holiday. So reserve your T- shirt and a seat. You don't want to miss this one. A big time party in the evening. "Good Food" "Great Music." Come and see the refurbished bell from the Administration building & church. Work on the bell tower continues and we hope to have something by that day. Come and visit with old brothers & sisters real "Homekids one and all". See you there. Victor Message Number: 291 - Saturday, September 6, 2008 20:55:01 EDT [IP = 67.80.190.137]
My time at St. Agatha were both sad and tough. The home tought me to fight for things I wanted in life. With this attitude I've overcome some impossible tasks Message Number: 290 - Saturday, September 6, 2008 10:28:26 EDT [IP = 66.136.89.119]
Victor those pictures of the Brook were really great. I always heard of a pool back there but could not picture it until now. Was it a real pool with blue water? or a pool with lake water? We really need to save all of these pictures and someday put it in a book or movie. Message Number: 289 - Wednesday, September 3, 2008 14:16:53 EDT [IP = 75.176.5.212]
Back@cha!...I’d like to take this moment to announce and inform those of you planning on attending this year’s reunion, I will be making available (nominal fee of $25) copies of the “Our Home Movies” DVD”, only while disk supplies last. To date, I’m unaware of any other video footage abroad showcasing Home Kids candidly being them selves athletically, socially and at times promiscuously (hmmm. lol!), as they partake in various recreational activities at St. Agatha throughout the 60’s. I make this 2hr. DVD readily available to those interested mainly because it seems it didn’t make the full rounds when it initially came out. I guarantee it will vividly restore memories of days gone by. For every sale, $5.00 will be donated towards the Tower Bell fund. What better time to take advantage of this offer considering the consequential circumstances that have taken place at our beloved St. Agatha. Full recognition for composing, preserving and release of these video files go to Coach Jim Bryant, for without his initial consent, this DVD may never have conceived its rebirth. Thanks “Coach” Bryant (along with those responsible for salvaging this rare piece of history), again through your light we find a glow! Hello there fellow St. Agatha Alumni, hope all is well and manageable as we approach the tail end of a summer now in retreat. Next up, the acquiescent surrender to autumn’s chill. Are we once again ready to unite in unison for what may prove to be one of the more emotionally heartfelt reunions ever attended? One certain to arouse wavering after thoughts I’m sure. As you very well know, every reunion has a special meaning in and of its own. The faces we’ve long to see, the pictures shared, and the memories stowed. We reunite as family of unique commonalities and circumstances, all while lending opportunity to engage, reflect and absorb one another’s growth. Rhetorically speaking, I’m sure this upcoming reunion will leave a distinctively fond yet somber impression on many, one that will undoubtedly accrue and transcend as time charts its course. Premised by a surrounding atmosphere of inevitability, and its constant prey to transitional change, I suppose this trip back (unlike any other) will be my way of addressing the confines of closure. My hopes are that at day’s rest, we’ll all be able to retrieve and leave with a source of serenity, a solace that will remain forever lasting! God Bless! I want to know how many of you are planning to attend the days function? What are some of the things you would like to see happen on this special day? Just curious of stories or pictures from the time my brother (Hector) and I were at St Agatha's. Wondering if anyone from that time is around. I was very young about 5 or 6 and my brother was about 8 or 9. Neither of us have the best of memories. I would like to see if anyone else is around from that year with similar circumstances. Hello My name is Tinasha Perry. And I see that a lot of people writing on this site lived on St. Ags a long time before I did lol ... and I'm not sure if I will find anyone who knows me here. I just wanted to say that when I found out it was closing, I was deeply saddened. Its like finding out your parents are losing the house that you grew up in. I lost memories ... and people I can never find again. Anyway, if anyone who was there around the time I was there wants to contact me...please do so asap. Would love to hear from you. Thanks for your guestbook entry. I just spoke with Jim and Mary Bryant, they run Camp Agape in North Carolina, where they live. It is a spiritual camp for youth and he runs it much like St. Agatha. Very fitting, wouldn’t you say? His phone # is 910-592-7006. I know he would love to hear from you. On July 19th, his wife and church are holding a celebration to honor Jim's good works, at 5 pm. If you could make it, they would be thrilled. Don’t forget, all of St. Agatha Home Grounds is not changed, many of the buildings are still intact. The 37 acres that the County bought for parks is open for you to visit, and bring your children. You can walk around and say “This is where the play yard was” which we could not do if it was a housing development. The trees and woods are the same, the pavilions at the front where we used to have visiting. The gym, which was built in 1959, is where we will have our reunion in Oct. I hope you can make it. Hello and god bless those who know me and those who don't. But first and fourmost I would like to give a special hello to Sister Kathryn King aka Sister James. This is my first time back on the site in a while and I see some names and pictures of people who I remember such as Mrs. Beverly. I believe she was in 150 at the time, and Mr Richard Roster who used to run the teen center and other things. I am very sorry to hear that St. Agatha's home is closed, but it will always be open in my heart, and I wish it was still open so we can bring our children and show them the things we learned and where we learned it and introduce them to the people who took the time to teach us not only for pay but because they truly cared. Meantime, I would like to extend a blessing to everyone who may know me or my sister Gabrielle. Hope to hear from someone soon!! ps. Has anyone heard from coach Jim Bryant? I wanted to be sure you all know that on the website main page, at the bottom of the first, left hand colum, are the census records for St. Agatha for each decade from 1900, to 1930. The 1940 are not released by the govt. yet. Keep in mind, they are in order up to a point, then latecomers are put in out of order. If you need help finding names, let me know. Also, no matter when you were at St. Agatha, you can write for your records to the NY Foundling, Records: Wendy Freund, 590 Sixth Ave., NY, NY 10011 Also, hope you all got the alumni letter about the reunion at St. Agatha on Oct. 12, in the gym, and I look forward to seeing you there and then. At that time, we will have the installation of the Belltower up on the hill, Duryea Lane. All the best to you. Nancy Message Number: 271 - Tuesday, July 15, 2008 19:16:47 EDT [IP = 72.88.170.137]
Hello to my fellow Home Kids. I want to say how happy I was to find this web site. I was working in the area of the home this summer and noticed the buildings had come down. It was very emotional for me. My brothers Arthur (who is still alive) Albert (who is not on the boys list) and Jerry (who is deceased)lived at the home from 1951-1964. I don't know if anyone remembers us, but I look foward to October 12 when I can hopefully reunite with some home kids. Message Number: 270 - Tuesday, July 15, 2008 18:43:57 EDT [IP = 66.142.253.80]

I write to inform you that one of your alumni, Dora Marchick (Doris Fischer, after she married), died in 1997. Back in 1982 I was a student at NYU's grad film school. I was allowed to shoot my thesis film on the grounds of St. Agatha's. I remember fondly the two weeks me and my crew spend shooting all over the campus. My mother and father were on hand to help out. It was a wonderful experience being at St. Agatha's with my mother. Rick Fischer Message Number: 268 - Monday, July 14, 2008 23:29:08 EDT [IP = 24.16.235.32]

Hello fellow HOME KIDS. I paid a visit to St.Agatha during my vacation July 1-8. It was quiet, no one around. Took pictures of the emptiness. The Duryea cottages, Mt. Carmel, two gazebos, and two other building near the main road still stands. It was hard for me to picture where most of the cottages stood since it's all flat now. No one could ever picture the grounds of the past unless they were actually there before 2008. Keep in touch. Maybe someday we can combine all of our picture and create a 100 years plus St.Agatha memorable book. Message Number: 266 - Thursday, July 10, 2008 16:20:17 EDT [IP = 69.251.113.157]

Greetings all! ... Wishing everyone on board family and friends alike, a happy holiday weekend… Throw a burger (m/w) on for me please, and grill the bun, lol! In Commemoration of Independence Day; FREEDOM, so often misconstrued and taken for granted… Forget not her ongoing plight to repel the sourly intrusions of petulance and disorder… Most importantly, let us commemorate the source and inspiration of her flight, deem them feathers!… Less we are reminded, it is not the eyes of an eagle that grant such vision, but for the feathered wings does she lift! … To all of our feathered Soldiers here, abroad gone and about, May God Bless You! … God Bless America! … God Bless Us All! Howdi Homekids, Hope all are doing well. I couldn't get to reply to Felicita Gonzales. I remember her name. Are you the one that's birthday was the 4th of July? We were in Ms. Manny's class together.(2nd grade) How many remember her? I don't know the correct spelling. For me she was a very memorable teacher, she must have loved children. On second thought, many that worked there must have. Victor you made me laugh, in your last entry, with the comment on "I think I'm still there" very cute! If you got to the home in 1954, then you must have gotten there at one or two years old. I didn't know that at that time they took kids in at that age. I thought that three was the youngest. I was born in 1952, and I was older then you. I remember you being in some of my classes. I was left behind my first year there, in second grade, since I did not know English. They then skipped me in 6th grade. not good! Thanks Nancy for the e-mails and and Maria Agosto and Ron, Cecilia and Lynette. Hi, Hope to be reunited with my St. Agatha family at the Reunion on 10/11/08. I arrived at the home when I was 4 with my 4 siblings. Being detached from family has made me emotional when experiencing certian losses. When I visited the home on 6/1/08, those feelings were revisited. However, I will always return to St. Agatha's; heart, mind and spirit. The sights, sounds and my experiences will remain forever. I cling. I did not realize how my trip back to the home would effect me. Since I have been on this mission to reach back there. I have also come to do some self introspecting. I'm not sure if I'm opening a endless hole or am I filling a void. Some of the pictures and slide shows are very moving. I'm expereincing blocks of times that I just don't remember. However the true home kids put some things in perspective and the grounds that I walked on are indeed sacred. I remember being on the drill team and football team, the olympics. I would love to hear from the Diaz Brothers, Carlos, Joe (thumb), and Raymond. Billy Roman Ismeal Roman, Sammy Floyd. Hello again, June 1st. was very special for me. I'm sad for the past and happy for the present use of the old grounds. Attending the event confirmed the reality of the change. The day went well for everyone. The local residents of Nanuet now have open space they can call there own. The Nanuet elementary schools got to celebrate there 100th & 50th years in service. The local politicians had a chance to gloat and home kids got to hang out together one more time. In the community tent we held a 50/50 raffle and Nancy Canfield donated copies of her book "Home Kids to be sold at the event. I took about one hour of video and a lot of photo's. For Carroll White Thank you for your recent message. I'm sure many home kids joined the service after they left the home or graduated. I know of two brothers that joined. Vincent and Mario Carioni. I haven't written to them or seen them since around 1943. I know Tom Malony and Tony Lombardi were in the service. I don't know about Walt Kelly or any other of the prefixes. I read a blurb from Wagner to O'connor. Seems like he was still up in the home when I left. Again thank you for your understanding message. Joe P. Wishing all that read these words good health and a sound mind and all the love that Home Kids deserve. The June 1st gathering at St.Agatha to officially open the new park for the Nanuet School District was bitter sweet for me.On the one hand it was sad to see the many familiar buildings and sites gone but the new park was quite nice and I'm sure many families will enjoy the new space in the future. It was nice to see many Home Kids out for the occasion.Looking foward to seeing many more at the next reunion. My last two years at St.A., 67 to 69 I worked in a Nanuet resturant till about 9PM so many may not remember me for not being around. I do remember that in '65 there were many home kids who were State Champions in track and field for the Nanuet High School. I remember the Olympics we participated in. There was also the Vermont camping trip. My sister's were Julia, Myrna, Elba and Josephine Gonzles. And brother's Roberto Rodriquez and William (big head) Rodriquez. We all have different last names but that's another story. I went to the June 1, opening. It was so sad. Message Number: 248 - Wednesday, June 4, 2008 15:25:51 EDT [IP = 63.245.111.156]

I was at the former St.Agatha grounds on June 1 2008 with my borhter Robert. It was very sad to see the place I called home for twelve years down to afew buildings. It was nice to see some alummi that I remembered from the day. To Victor Castro I live about 45 min. from Nanuet and would like to volunteer my time for this years reunion. Please e-mail me. Hope to hear from you soon so we could set something up. God Bless Everyone. Message Number: 246 - Monday, June 2, 2008 12:36:24 EDT [IP = 63.145.54.80]
What a day it was, June 1st. It was so nice to see so many HOME KIDS. Maria,Victor, Matos and so many others. I hope all of the pictures come out. It was such a time for me also because I got to see Mt. Carmel after 37 years. I saw my old bedroom and the entire house. It was so sad but fullfilling. I just don't have the words to say how wonderful it was. In all my saddest point was seeing the church bell just laying there. I will write more later. Can't talk about it right now. I SERVED IN THE FAR EAST FOR 18 MONTHS IN JAPAN AND THE KOREAN WAR WITH 24TH AND 25TH DIVISION IN THE INFANTRY AND WAS AWARDED THE BRONZE STAR. MY 2 SONS ALSO SERVED IN THE NAVY AND THE MARINES AND ONE OF THEM IS IN THE MIDDLE EAST BORDER. ST. reluctantly signed this guest book because the only "Home Kids" I knew was Joe O'Conner. He beat me in a race up on the oval race course in the field. (He got a pen and pencil set) I don't know if I ever met Wagner but he knew the same terminology that we used at the time so I probably met or knew him at one time or another. All the rest of the Kids are unknown to me. My wife and I attended three Alumnus meeting and each time it was the same. All friends gathered together (which is as it should be) and we were essentially left to ourselves. No I'm not blaming anyone for normally accepted practices. If other kids of my generation were to attend we would probably do the same thing. I can understand why older Alumni do not attend. It might because they're deceased, infirmed, too ill or far away. (On the other hand it was good to see friends get together and hash over old (good and bad) times. During my time, most of us never associated with girls nor did we have cottages. Our knowledge of girls were limited. We knew they wore dresses and had long hair. Oh, they had high voices too. That's about it. I served in WWII, as an infantryman and in Korea as an airman. I was on active duty during the Vietnam war. Message Number: 242 - Sunday, May 25, 2008 13:36:50 EDT [IP = 65.32.238.16]

Hi everyone, I'm watching and reading a lot of buzz about June 1st. I'm concerned that alumni do not think this is an Alumni event. We will have a table set up to sell Nancy's book but other than that, This event is to allow the Nanuet parks & the school district to announce the opening of the park and celebrate the village's 100th anniversary. Anyone interested in attending please come, take a look at what the grounds have become. Also I will be shooting video on that day and maybe I can interview a few of you on the changes that you see. Be well. PS the October 11th reunion is still in the works! Victor Message Number: 237 - Sunday, May 11, 2008 10:09:07 EDT [IP = 71.71.250.78]
Happy Mother's Day How I Remember Mom, I do not remember her best for pies, nor her doughnuts, but for a sauce - not cooked. A sauce of life that sparkled childish eyes and frosted any picture while I looked. She knew the recipe for a youthful dream, because her own was ever close at hand. A cup of dew warmed by the sun's bright gleam could carry her into enchanted land. She saw a bluebird waiting in a tree, a hopeful chipmunk begging by a rock. So she made a lyric to the bluebird's glee and fed the chipmunk poems from her stock. I do not remember her best for pies, but for a sauce that sparkled childish eyes. To Nancy: Please tell mister Robert Wagner that he was accurate about his memories of St. Agatha. Everything he mentioned about the Christmas gifts we received, sled, roller skates and flashlight was and will always be in my memories at Christmas time with tears in my eyes. Hell to all of my brothers and sisters from St. Agatha's. I just wanted to respond to Robert Ortiz's comment about St. Agatha's staff. This is just my observation and opinion. I feel to one extent or another that children (whole families of children who were placed. there were traumatized. But the staff were great compassionate and it was obvious they enjoyed working with kids. When I look back I hold these things dear to my heart.I will be there June 1 08. Love Celia Message Number: 226 - Tuesday, April 22, 2008 11:39:21 EDT [IP = 68.196.176.170]

I was going to come in suit and tie for June 1. I have a shirt from one of the reunion that says St.Agatha on it. I will play it by ear. In the long run it does not matter what we wear on the outside, it's how our hearts were molded by the leadership at St.Agatha Home. I feel we all are blessed by St.Agatha Home, what it stood for and the beautiful children it produced. In my vision I see this great light illuminating from St.Agatha grounds to the heavens. I went to visit the home after viewing the pictures on the web site. The demolition is more profound in person. I was with my son attempting to explain my life there and failing miserably. After leaving rhe home in 1970 I went to Pius the XII school in Chester NY and lived there with mostly home kids from St Dominics and St Agnes. They were wonderful kids like us in St Agatha but there always seemed to be something missing. I think what they might have been missing was people like Jim Bryant, Rudy Polk, Fulton Fryer, Richard Royster, Eddie Polk, Hector Pagan, These people for me were a blessing, they inspired me with their leadership, they gave me hope, possibility, courage, accountability, and made me the person I am. The Sisters by their example taught me patience, steadfastness, and a secure belief that no matter God would always be there for me. We try to explain St Agatha but it is like trying to explain a miracle. Keep St Agatha in your hearts God Bless you all. See you in June. Hi everyone. Just updated myself on the event for June 1st. I would so love to drive up to New York for the event if I could take the time off from work. Does anyone have any recommendations for a hotel in Nanuet? Nothing to expensive ... I'm a single parent always trying to make ends meet :) Even if I can't make it for June 1st I do plan to make it to the reunion in Oct. so I will need a hotel for that. Will be making copies of the photos I found from my stay at St. Agatha, will send them to Nancy to get them put on the website. As for a name for The Bell Tower ... the only thing that came to mind was St. Agatha Home for Children's Bell Tower. It's nothing great ... I guess I would like to see the Bell Tower with some reference to St. Agatha Home for Chidren in some way. God Bless you all. If you haven’t checked out the News Alerts page on this website, be sure to do so. Each of the Blue links on our webpage will bring you to a story. Particularly note the one about June 1 celebration, with a parade from Nanuet, to St. Agatha, to dedicate the new park there. Victor and Maria Agosto will have a table and they will be selling Home Kids books, and providing info about the Belltower dedication to be held Oct. 11 at the next alumni reunion in the old gym. Please plan on being there, it should be a blowout! Also, for those of you waiting with me to hear from Oprah's booklist, keep those prayers going. Here's a new development: I met with a Movie Producer yesterday about doing a Documentary (HBO type) based on Home Kids. We have a lot to do, but you know me and having faith. Victor will be filming the June 1 event for inclusion in the film, but remember, movies take a long time to get produced. Sort of like babies, eh? Thanks for all your sharing and caring. Hello HOME KIDS. I sent an email to OPRAH last week. I also submitted information for the Bell Tower. Some of you hopefully got it. I could not send it in here due to the Latin Words used that were not reconizable by the website. If anyone needs me to translate the words I used, please feel free and let me know. Again the words were of Latin origin and properly picked right to fit the meaning of St.Agatha. Message Number: 216 - Wednesday, April 16, 2008 20:49:01 EDT [IP = 71.247.168.169]
Thank you Ronald Lugo for always speaking your mind. Its a beautiful mind indeed! Robert Garcia, give your ideas about the bell tower name. Celia Anita, lets hear your ideas also. Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton, founder of the sisters of charity, and mother of all Saint Agatha Home Kids, might be included in a name. Some kind of shrine, with blessings... The Nanuet school children who become the new "home kids" should know our history. They should know that the ground they walk upon is special, special for them too!! Celia your comment about your photos on the website had me searching for you. So nice to have a face to a name. With packing & preparing my house to go up for sale, found myself unpacking boxes of photo albums to search for photos from St. Agatha days. I found a few from 1968-71 ... I will make copies of them but who do I send them to so that they may be put on the website? I'll even send a photo of myself from 8th grade and one of me now. I have at least first names and years to photos. I'll see it I can match up last names from the list on the website. Does anyone remember a brother and sister that graduated high school in 1971 by the name of Nelson & Judy? I believe they had different last names. I have very fond memories of them. Nelson was a very sweet teenager who was always so kind to me. Saw some pictures of Nelson on the website when he was younger. Hey All, thought I’d give an entry for “The Bell Tower” renaming, although personally I think it sounds good as is!. Please feel free to comment or pull any suggestions you may have from it as well. I tried to keep it in the same vein as what Jean was referring to below “a continuing/ongoing presence” Here are the 4 suggestions , 1) The St. Agatha Home Memorial Bell Tower “Ringing in God’s Children” 2) The St. Agatha Home Memorial Bell "The Bell Forever Tolls", 3) The St. Agatha Home Memorial Bell “The Guiding Toll”, and 4) The St. Agatha Home Memorial Bell “ Children of the Toll”... In my following entry (Inspired by all of you) I’ve rewritten a piece I entered here last year about the Bell Tower. I decided to change the wording somewhat in light of the present interest stirring around her revival. Thank you all for your constant inspiration, your presence will continue to breathe life abroad! I can't think of any good names for the bell tower memorial, but I do think that whatever name is chosen, it should reflect our continuous presence on the site. We are forever tied to the grounds of Saint Agatha Home. The grounds are sacred because so many beautiful young children spent significant portions of their lives there. Most of the buildings may be gone, but the soil and the air will never go away. I love Saint Agatha Home!! Every living being who has been there or visits, is blessed. This is my prayer!! Hello Again. It's Celia I was just looking at pictures of some of the nuns who took care of the children at St. Agatha . I fondly remember Sr. Christine who could play and hit a baseball and you could feel the love and concern she had for the children. There was Sr. Alexander who worked with the older boys Sr. Roberts, Sr. Noreen and so many wonderful staff persons. When I look back I remember staff who cared for us. which made the separation form my family not as difficult. Sheila Bethel 'Dorothy Harris Elaine Principe, Nancy Delaney,Ann Guglimelo,Jim and Mary Bryant, Sheila Banks, Marion Cable, The Polk brothers, Nick Switzer, Colin Minga who I dearly loved his mother Naomi Rogers, Sr Raymond, Anna Mae Willy, the nuns who came to stay with us when our house nuns went on retreat. Robert Garcia, I think your idea of setting up a booth to help sell the "Home Kids" book is excellent. I also think getting the book on Oprah's list is an excellent idea. I will write to Oprah.com. I hope others will also. Let us all make a "jolly show" at the June 1st event as well as October 11th weekend!! If anyone has any old photos from the good old days, please place them on the web-site for all of us to enjoy. Message Number: 202 - Saturday, April 12, 2008 21:45:19 EDT [IP = 68.46.127.157]
Celia, that's why your name sounds familiar. I remember a girl that I worked with in New City babysitting one summer. My memory doesn't serve me to well from my childhood due to moving around so much. St Agatha was a place I stay the longest...can't believe I went to 15 schools. I am well thank you. Life has been good to me. After college I got married to my high school sweetheart. We moved to Calif where we lived for 15 yrs & had 2 children, they're 19 & 16 yrs old. My work brought me to PA 13 yrs ago. Currently going through a divorce after 26 yrs. I'm excited about 2008 as my divorce will be final & a new beginning over the horizon. Through life's ups & down, God has been the one constant thing I hold on to. God Bless. Message Number: 201 - Friday, April 11, 2008 10:47:07 EDT [IP = 71.192.149.0]
